Hello!
Sometimes I find water on the floor.
It seems to come from the back of the water pump pully.
It doesent do that all the time, and it is not much. Probably not yet enough to justify a pump rebuilt.

But i was wandering as well if this is a design feature. In the Pump drawing i see what could seems a drain passage before the felt washer protecting the bearing.

Any body know if that is really a drain, and so some water dripping is normal and by design from there?

Thanks!

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Issue with fuel line leak
« on: May 17, 2023, 09:01:02 »
Hello all!
I reveved some new parts from Burlen and installed them yesterday ( new float chambers needle valve, float chamber gaskets etc..).
When I reconnected the fuel line i found a very bad leak! it is at the frst carburetor joint, where the copper pipe comes from the pump.
I had disconnected this joint before, and it had never leaked.
I am missing a rubber seal? or it should be just the nut and the brass ferrule?
I have noticed the brass ferrule moves around on the copper pipe. is it normal? Should it move or not?
Do you have any suggestion for stopping this leak? Should i change this pipe?
Thanks!!!

Hello!
unfortunately the body was already drilled in two points to hold the number plate, but i am concerned that the leverage that the number plate and the braket might do in case the plate is hit it could damage the body panels. As well it might not be very strong.
I didnt wanted to make other holes in the body to reinforce the set up so i came up with another solution.
I made this removable frame.
Now that i have tested it, it will paint it.
Best,
Eddie

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Wishbone pins greasing
« on: April 09, 2023, 00:33:33 »
Hello!
The books indicates that the wishbone pins should be lubricated as well on the in-board side.

But inboard i belive there are only the rubber bushings, correct? and no lubrication needed.

I can not see any lubrication nipple on any of the 8 inboard wishbone pins.

may be other years used to have it? the car is 1959.

Thanks!

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Aceca boot/tool bag - custom made
« on: April 07, 2023, 18:52:12 »
Hello!
I would like to show you the boot/tool bag i made.
I didn't liked much the empty space by the spare wheel. But that space is very useful to keep the emergency triangle, fire extinguisher, oil can, tools, wheel hammer etc). So in order to keep these items in order, i made this bag.
It goes flush at the same height of the spare wheel cover, and it is made of the same carpet of the rest of the upholstery.
it is shaped to follow the contour and size of the boot and the fuel pipe.
I has flaps to keep things inside and a sliding handle so it remains at the level of the wheel cover.
Thanks,
Eddie

Hello!
I have a question i would like to ask about the heating system for an 1959 AC Aceca.
I see the big black smiths heater exchange box on the back of the engine, but i dont see any electric fan pushing the air trought it.
Is this the original desing, or there should be as well a motor forcing the air through the box?
I can see only a shutter opeing and closing the passage to the air coming from the long air duct that comes from the front grille.
The system should have a motor, or it is just based on the air coming from this intake, that obviously will vary depending by the speed of the car?
Thanks!
Eddie
