More thoughts, if buying a built kit car be sure to give it a thorough check over.  Also, check the ID on the car.

The Autocraft  Mk IV, etc are good cars and are ACs.........

I forgot to mention Hawk Cars as they provide 289 replicas rather than the 427 shape provided by most other kit car manufacturers

You will find Gerry Hawkridge of Hawk Cars and Nigel Hulme of Superformance UK most helpful

Recent ACs / New Continuation Cobras

How will they pass emissions tests with a "new" 260 engine? How can they be original spec if they wish to pass the IVA test where switches etc will have to be rocker switches to comply with latest requirements?

I wonder how many present Members do not own an AC? Having sold my Ace I am sure I must be in the minority....

I am a member of the ACOC and fully support the request to keep the Forum open. I wouldn't want prospective members to think the ACOC was elitist by not allowing forum participation unless you were a member.

I see Castle Classics notes that "The car has a triple Weber configuration" - looks like Solex carbs to me.

Surely the list of in-period race wins and who drove the car are the important part of the car's history not who finished somewhere in the 2012 Shelby Cup at Goodwood or 2011 Silverstone Classic.

Ace, Aceca & Greyhound Forum / Ace/Aceca over riders
« on: February 28, 2013, 10:15:10 »
Thought I would revive this thread as Old Ford Spares have not been able to progress new supplies.  Does anyone know of a different source or can identify any other make the overriders were fitted to apart from the E93A Popular and possibly Standard 10?

   Thank you, Bill

UPDATE - everything working now, must have been the excesses of Christmas that dulled the senses or the computer!!

It seems that this topic has strayed away from the original post by Rob Fisher.

Rob's concern on the new type shaft was that the bolt which he had Loctited and torqued to 80ft/lbs and later 100ft/lbs had loosened - no mention of shafts shearing at the keyway after replacing the original system.

The topic has now diverged to discuss shearing at keyways with no comment on Rob's "locking arrangement" and/or the usefulness of a right-handed and left-handed/reverse threading for the bolts.

I believe you meant to type CSX2126 [^]

CSX 2126 is listed as the rack & pinion prototype and CSX 2127 the first production rack & pinion car - from "World Registry of Cobras & GT40s"

I note that Bill Bridges attended the 2012 Cobra Celebrations at Monterey, etc  -  perhaps he can offer some advice on transportation, insurances, bonds etc etc??
