I suspect, however, that the article deals with the Cobra 289 and a 1992 remake of same, whereas I was talking about the AC 289 Sports which had the Cobra 427 chassis and also the 427 body with the modifications described in my initial post, making the car look somewhat more elegant (in my view). The AC 289 Sports did not wear the name 'Cobra' and was not exported to the US. I wonder whether Brian Angliss ever created a new edition of that car, possibly only a very small quantity, similar to what he did on a larger scale with respect to the Cobra 427 when he created the Mk IV.
