General Forum / AC Rail Bus
« on: June 17, 2017, 16:26:00 »
I visited the Great Central Railway at Loughborough yesterday and took the opportunity to check on the AC  rail bus that they have there. It doesn't look like any work has been done on it for a long time.

3000ME Forum / AC 3000MEs at Brands Hatch
« on: May 09, 2013, 22:41:41 »
A great day out at Brands Hatch on Bank Holiday Monday 6th May 2013.

Eleven AC 3000MEs taking part in the Britten's Parade at the Classic Sports Car Club's race meeting.

Lovely weather, and a couple of laps of the circuit, still fun even though behind a pace car.

3000ME Forum / AC 3000ME Chassis Model
« on: April 05, 2013, 13:01:40 »
I displayed this model, minus its rear subframe, on the AC 3000ME stand at last year's NEC Classic Motor Show. It's still not complete, but it's getting there.

Cobra (Thames Ditton) Forum / 289 Cobra Replica
« on: April 01, 2012, 08:56:47 »
I know that a lot of AC owners have strong, usually negative views about replicas, but I think there is a place for them. Personally, I am quite happy to have a replica of something I can’t hope to own because it’s either too expensive, too rare, or both.
Take this little beauty.  Advertised on Ebay at a fraction of the cost of the real thing, I just couldn’t resist it. Assembled in China and imported via the USA, it’s the closest thing to a real 1965 Cobra that I’m ever likely to be able to afford. HM Revenue and Customs’ online facility made paying the import duty a simple affair, and registration and insurance were not a problem.  All in, about 15k. I’d have preferred it to be right-hand drive, but it shouldn’t be too hard to convert if needs be.
