Title: Goodwood ACOC Sprint
Post by: hawk289 on November 03, 2007, 19:54:30: What an excellent day out, some shots of the action. Only went for a couple of hours.

Post by: aaron on November 04, 2007, 21:48:47: Peter came out of the chicane,gave ita little to much welly ,spun the car twice and hit the tyre wall. his car has a crease in the nearside rear wing and some damage by the rear nearside lights.

The guy who was in the blue AC Ace ,which has been rebodied to look like an AC 289 spun his car coming out of the chicane also,but managed to keep the car on the track

Post by: hawk289 on November 04, 2007, 22:21:26: Very lucky, between tyre and dirt is 4 feet!!. I would not like to hit anything at Goodwood, no run off's compared to GP tracks. Did you have a go? Also who got the best time in an AC?

Post by: aaron on November 06, 2007, 13:21:48: John,no I did not have a go, I can not imagine thrashing mt little Ford Fiesta round Goodwood !! Im not sure who got the best time in an AC ,but I would not be surprised if it was Kevin Kivlochan in his Cobra

Post by: hawk289 on November 06, 2007, 18:00:00: Excellent photo's, will have to wait for the magazine to see the results. I hope my Ac Bristol is restored for next years sprint. I recon if you stuck a V8 in the fiesta would go like stink around Goodwood!!!

   It would look really funny if you were driving from the passenger seat using the 'HE-MAN' dual controls though![8D]

Post by: aaron on November 06, 2007, 18:59:11: your right ,a V8 under the bonnet,a 427 with twin paxton super chargers sounds good.... but steering from the passengers seat with the steering wheel on the right is abit tricky,believe me Ive had to do it at times...............[:)]

Post by: nikbj68 on November 07, 2007, 10:16:25: Thanks for the pics, Tainan. One thing though....when pressing the 'next' or 'previous' buttons, the gallery jumps to the London-Brighton run gallery, but if you`re in the LBVCR gallery, it won`t jump back to the ACOC one!!

   Hopefully fixed that now! Thanks for the feedback - my first time with this software so it was an exercise to see if I could work it as much as anything.

   I have attempted to attach a scanned image of results (AC classes only) but being a bit of a numpty with these things it may not be where it should be

   If not, fastest AC of the day was K.Kivlochan in a Cobra MK11.

   As a competitor on the day (3000ME)I would like to thank all the ACOC members that give there time to organising and marshalling these events and in particular Clive Bowyer for whom I believe this was to be his last Goodwood Sprint in an organisational role.
