Sure looks like the driver took a beating in that one! Does anybody know who it is? Is he/she ok?

Agreed. It's not a lightweight.

The cabin has leather edging around it, and it also appears to be a "Long Nose" car.

Other clues are telescopic bumper mounts, position of fuel filler, roll bar uprights behind bulkhead and spare wheel (fitted to off side rear) being 16 inch.  Only way this is a lightweight is in the fact that loads of bits have fallen off as a result of the crash.   I I sincerely hope the driver survived better than the car did.   BtW if it were a lightweight he/ she would not have had the benefit of the side impact bar.

It's at least going to need some body filler!  And the wheels may need re-balancing - especially the rear ones!!

Hopefully not connected but a reminder to us all that our Car's should be treated with respect.

Excerpt from a regional paper last October.

"The man killed in a crash on Romney Marsh last week has been named by police as xxxxxxx xxxxxx from New Romney.

The 63 year-old, of High Street, New Romney was driving a Blue AC Cobra sports car when it left the road after colliding with a red Ford KA.

It happened on the A259 at Brookland at 3.50pm on Friday October 14.

An inquest is due to be opened next week.

I remember seeing that report on the Cobra Replica Club website back in November of last year, but hadn`t made the link to this car. I was hoping that a tree fell on it whilst parked, as it certainly doesn`t look like a surviveable incident, side impact bars or not. Horrible horrible shame.
I have just spoken to the seller, and they will not give the chassis number to anyone other than the purchaser; with much interest from outside of the UK, where the car could be rebuilt & re-registered with the same chassis number, unlike in the UK, they don`t want it quote: "plastered all over the internet".

Now sold to America so you can all stop getting excited about the chassis number

If the owner of the car came to grief in it, then deepest respect and very sincere condolences to his family.

Maybe time to close this thread.

Google provides the remainder of this story ....

I'ld rather have that report connected to this blue MkIV, if not, then there may have been an additional victim!
